For me personally, there weren’t that many good deals for Labor Day so I didn’t end up posting them.  THIS week, however, there are some really good deals IMO.

Have you ever looked at a list of things marked sales and wondered how good a deal it is or why the blogger might consider it a good deal?  In my never ending attempt to bring new and slightly different prespectives to this blog, I’ve decided to hi-lite items that I consider to be particularly good (and explain why) deals from now on, as well as to point out things listed that I personally don’t consider a good deal but you might, and where you might find the same (or better) deal elsewhere.

King Soopers:

Organic Peaches 10 lbs for $10

Green Grapes 10 lbs for $10 - anything $1 or less is a good deal  (remember deals like this usually mean possibly different color grapes as well for the same price at Walmart)

Kroger Cheese Shredded, sliced or chunks 4/$5 (normally even Walmart brand cheese is more than $1.25 each!)

Healthy Choice or Marie Callender’s Entrees 5/$10 - I don’t even look at frozen meals for less than $2 a piece so this is worth considering.

Bar S Bologna 16 oz $.99 - I don’t know who came up with the idea that bologna is supposed to be cheap, but I can’t usually find it below $2+ so I will definately be stocking up on this one!

Bar S Jumbo Meat or Turkey Franks $.88 - This is about the price I usually see it at Walmart, but it’s still a good price.

Fritos or Frito Lay Canned Dips $1.57

(I’m not much of a fresh meat price tracker so I don’t know if these prices are that good or not)

Red Bird Boneless Chicken Breasts, Tenders or Strips BOGO (normally $7.99 each)

Center Cut Pork Loin Chops Boneless $1.99 in super value pack (save $2.50) - I’m pretty sure this is a good deal and one I’ll be taking advantage of.

USDA Choice Boneless Bottom Round Rump Roast 50% off (says save $2.25, but off of what?)

Pork Shoulder Roast $.99 lb whole, sold in bag (save $1.60 lb)

Frosted Flakes, Special K, Frosted Mini Wheats 3/$9 AND if you buy 3 you get a gallon of milk FREE - I don’t see anywhere that they state you have to buy 3 to get the same prices so if you don’t mind picking up an extra box of cereal you can make this deal even better by using 2 $1/2 coupons for either of these products found in the 8/2 Kelloggs insert!

Breyer’s Ice Cream or Klondike Novelties $2.27 (says you save up to $3.42) use $1/2 coupon for ice cream or $1/1 coupon for Klondike bars and this is a really good deal.

Coke and Pepsi 12 pks are each 3/$12 respectively.  That’s about the worst actual sale price I’ve seen, the absolute most I can pay without wallet pains is $3 each, but if you missed the deals from last week and you have to have some soda this week those are the prices.  If you can afford to wait even a week, though chances are the prices will drop to at least 3/$11 or something a bit more reasonable.

Weekend Party Platters are down $2 to $12.99 - not TOO horribly bad for a fruit platter, as for the rest I don’t know if that’s a good deal or not.

The following are all 10/$10 some deals are better than others

King Soopers brand Potato or Macaroni Salad are 10/$10 for 1 lb containers. - considering I spent over $5 on 3 lbs just 2 days ago this is a GREAT deal!

King Soopers/Kroger brand Sour Cream or Dips are 10/$10 as well - not at bad price for sour cream

Aunt Jemima or Kroger frozen breakfasts 10/$10 (save up to $.99) - I don’t usually price check these, as I’m only buying them for RV trips and the like, but 50% savings is always worth mentioning in my book.

Fast Fixin Chicken 10/$10 - not as cool as when the coupons are out making them free but if you happen to have them it’s an awesome deal!  If not, with the shrinking sizes in the Tyson chicken nuggets it’s actually a pretty reasonable price, feed the kids for a buck!

Kroger Frozen Vegetables 10/$10 - decent enough, but if you aren’t too low on frozen veggies I’d wait for cheap green giant brand which has coupons.

Kroger Frozen Orange Juice $.99

Michelinas Budget Gourmet or  Banquet Meals 10/$10

Cool Classics Novelties 10/$10

Mini Peeled Carrots 1 lb bag 10/$10 - I HATE paying more than $1 a bag but if you aren’t careful you can find yourself paying as much as $2 a bag, so I usually buy at least one bag (my family LOVES carrots)

Glaceau Vitamin, Gold Peak Tea, Fuze Beverage or Snapple Tea 10/$10 - some of these are a better deal than others

Kroger Salad Dressing or Marinade (save up to $1.50) - probably a nice opportunity to pick up some cheap ranch dressing.

Dole Mandarin Oranges or Tropical Fruit Salad 10/$10

Hormel Hard or Genoa Salami or Pepperoni 10/$10 - you can’t beat this price, normally you pay 3 or more dollars minimum!

Betty Crocker Cake or Duncan Hines Brownie Mix 10/$10

Mars King Size Candy 10/$10

Hershey’s King Size 10/$10

Mentos Gum 10/$10

Kroger Candy 10/$10

Hershey’s Mini Cartons 10/$10

Arrid or Brut 10/$10 - use $.55/1 or $1/1 Brut coupon found in the Sept All You Magazine

Dial, Kroger or Soft Soap Elements  Hand Soap 10/$10 - if this coupon works then a doubled $.55 coupon gets you FREE Dial soap!

Albertsons:

Milk Gallon $1.58 - but Walmart seems to always have this price so it’s nothing big

General Mills or Post Cereal $1.50 -

Albertsons is taking advantage of the number fun 9-9-09 to run a bunch of $.99 deals

Grapes Red, Green or Black $.99 lb - while Walmart will also have this price I find that the places that have the deals tend to have better quality of the item on sale.

Pepsi, 7-Up, RC or A&W 2 liters $.79 - any price under $1 is a good deal in my book

Hunt’s Spaghetti Sauce, Ro-Tel Diced Tomatoes, Albertsons Pasta or Albertsons French Bread $.99 - The french bread at any store is generally around $1.59 and I have never seen it go below $1 so I stock up at this price. The Pasta is good at buck as well.

Hunts Snack Pack Pudding Cups, Chef Boyardee Pasta or Jolly Time Microwave Popcorn $.99 - I have been waiting to stock up on pudding cups and I never pay more than $1 so this is a good deal for me.

Hawaiian Punch, Glaceau Vitaminwater or Smartwater $.99 - the most I will pay for these products and even better if you have a coupon lying around.

Malt-O-Meal Cereal Select Varieties 10-12 oz $.99 (limit 5) - this seems like a good deal, but the bags are pretty small. A box of Frosted Mini-Wheats (name brand), for instance is generally sold in 18 oz containers because they are very heavy.  Check up above and take advantage of the King Soopers Cereal deal, for about the same price AND you get free milk!

Amour Lunchmakers, Bar S Jumbo Hot Dogs or Farmland Roll Sausage $.99 - I don’t know about the other items here but again hit King Soopers for $.88 Bar S hot dogs instead.

Assorted Candy or Gum $.99 - Trident is included so use this $1/2 coupon to get 2 packs for $1

Avocados $.99 each - I have no idea if this is a good deal or not

Calidad Corn or Flour Tortillas $.99 - not a bad price for flour tortillas

Rosarita Refried Beans or Calidad Tortilla Chips $.99 - $1 Tortilla Chips are always a good buy in my book.

Ortega Diced Green Chiles, El Monterey Burritos, Hormel Chunk Meats or Tamales $.99

Albertsons Shredded and Chunk Cheese 32 oz  $4.99 - this looks to me like a pretty good deal and I will definitely be picking up some shredded cheese, I can’t ever get enough in my house.

Coke or Pepsi 12 pk 3/$12 - again not a great deal

Shedd’s Spread Country Crock 30-45 oz $1.79 - I think this is a pretty good deal especially if this coupon works, just keep in mind Albertsons doesn’t double coupons.

Buy 6 save $3 on the following items Mix and Match:

Betty Crocker 80 calorie Potatoes, Old El Paso Mexican Rice, Enchilada Sauce, Beans or Taco or Tostada Shells $.75 each WYB 6 - many of these items have coupons that can be printed
here

Banquet Value Meals $.99
Tony’s Crisp Crust Pizza or Old Orchard Frozen Juice $.99
Haagen Dazs Ice Cream 4 oz or Breyers 16 oz $.99 - it’s possible that $1/2 coupon can get you Breyers for $.50 each WYB 2, depending on the size restriction on the coupon.

Pears $.99 lb - anytime pears are a $1 or less I stock up.

Potatoes 10 lbs $2.99 - same here, anytime a 10 lb bag is $3.99 or less I also pick one up, provided I don’t already have a bag.
