Two stores and a learning experience for each!

Store #1

Walgreen’s is cracking down on couponers and couponing once again. Today I was informed that while the RR used to be considered “same as cash” they are now coded as manufacturer coupons. As a result my attempts to spend the least amount of money on the below items did not go as well as I’d hoped.

everything above earned a RR. I had hoped to roll the RRs back and pay as little OOP as possible but in the end I ended up spending: $13.49, saving $22.27 and earning 11.50 in RR not bad considering I messed up the deal. I can’t wait to see how well I do when I get it right :)

Store #2

Looks like Walmart has finally come around! Ever since they started price matching it seems that their customer service has improved along with it! On top of that, their efforts to “prove” that they have the lowest prices anywhere has led them to mark things down before you have to price match them!

Everything I purchased above with the exception of the cucumbers, eggs and the sliced cheese I went intending to price match.  Out of everything, only three items actually had to be matched, everything else they’d already marked down ahead of time to match (or beat) this week’s sales in other stores! Surprisingly I always end up in Walmart without coupons, so out of all those above I only used 2 $1.35 Mocha Fiber One bars, and only those because they expired today. Price matching makes it a bit hard to see the savings, but for all that above I spent: $53.01 and I saved myself a trip to 4 other stores in the process!
