Saving my sanity at the dinner table - All in one meal.
Tonight I served the kids an old standby, but a favorite nonetheless.
2 packages Ramen noodles (chicken flavored)
2 eggs thrown in with the noodles and then broken up as they cook
1 cup (or so) of frozen peas thrown in at the tail end of the noodles cooking.
Covers just about all the food groups at once; grains, vegetables, protein. Just need to figure out a dairy and they’re all set! 2 packages can cover the kids through 2nds, 3rds and more, so a perfect solution for a night without hubby.
Last night hubby cooked us hamburgers and I added birds eye steamer broccoli. Once again the promise of dessert, in this case Pillsbury cinnamon rolls worked like a charm in convincing my picky 5 year old to try the hamburger (or at least half of it), so that’s one more thing we can add to the “lets try this again” pile. Well, at least the entire house seems to love broccoli, so that’s something.
